A new exhibition by HOP – Hub of Photography brings together 100 photographers and asks them to define “self” through their work.

Our sense of self is created through the past and our hopes for the future. We all grow up, learn and document memories from each period of our lives amid ever-changing emotions. We evolve and grow. If we were to select one photograph to represent ourselves, what photo would we choose?

The group photography exhibition “SELFPRESSION | The Representation of 100 Photographers Identity” collects definitions of the word “self” through the works of more than 100 photographers in various genres. In 100 photographs, the artists interpret the notion of self in different styles, including self-portraits, photos of loved objects, places of memory and intimate glimpses into their lives.

For several years, the photographers experimented, honed their skills and grew with the changing tides of life that shaped their perspectives. Thus, this exhibition resembles a space for emotional self-exploration told through photographic works.

It might leave you wondering about yourself and raise the question of what your “true self” really is.
