An imaginative new solo exhibition by Ladakorn Puangbubpha runs from November 7-28 at Number 1 Gallery Silom.
In “The Universe of Us,” Ladakorn Puangbubpha’s first solo exhibition at Number 1 Gallery, the Silpakorn graduate showcases an expressive collection of works made by scratching and etching images on a copper plate. The imaginative artworks feature plants and animal creatures in an almost unreal setting. Ladakorn transports viewers seemingly through a magical door to a different state of time, with tones and shapes that appear as though from another land that is simultaneously fascinating and exciting.
Ladakorn holds a master’s degree from the Fine Arts Program in Visual Arts at Silpakorn University. She received The White Elephant Art Award in 2021 and recognition from The PTT Art Contest in 2020. Moreover, she won a scholarship from “The General Prem Tinsulanonda Statesman Foundation” and has exhibited many works both in Thailand and abroad. These include the International Print Biennale Yerevan 2019 in Armenia, The International Print Triennial Cieszyn in Poland, and the 10th Kochi International Triennial Exhibition of Prints in Japan.
